Course Description

Hydraulic Elevators - Basics

The Hydraulic Elevator module is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of hydraulic elevator operations, including terminology, principal components, and relevant codes.

This course is led by an industry expert, using an online virtual methodology. You will have access to the materials through an online learning management system.

Course Outline

Anatomy – A basic understanding of the operating principles of a hydraulic elevator, using 3D models and other media for visual reference and knowledge.  Instructors will compare and contrast the differences to previously learned traction elevators.

Terminology – To facilitate a deeper comprehension, we've divided this course into four primary categories: Pit, Hoistway, Machine Room, and Car. These concepts will be explained in detail through the use of digital imagery, 3D animation, and additional visual aids during our discussion.

How it works – The instructors will explain how hydraulic elevators work, with an in-depth look at a variety of configurations and operating principles of hydraulic elevators including:  Direct Acting, Telescopic, and Roped.

Codes – Using the A17.1 & CSA B44, we are going to dive into areas of the code that relate to hydraulic elevators.

Conclusion: We will conclude this module with a summary and field any remaining questions while ensuring attendees understand the materials of this course. We would be very happy to outline the value of taking the remaining 4 elevating device modules offered.
