Drive Your Career Forward with Class D Driver Training

Looking to expand your driving skills and boost your career, but not sure where a Class D licence can take you? A valid Class D licence is required to operate any truck or vehicle combination that weighs in excess of 11,000 kilograms or 24,000 pounds. This program consists of 4-hours of theory and 8-hours of hands-on, practical training in an automatic transmission. The Class D driver training program has been developed to assist Class G licensed drivers in obtaining the critical knowledge and skills for a successful Ministry of Transportation Class D road test.

Course Outline

DEFENSIVE DRIVING

First, you will learn essential defensive driving skills for operating a Class D vehicle. This means the need for longer following distances, careful and alert observation at all times, and how to anticipate the actions of pedestrians and other drivers on the road.

KEEP CALM AND SHARE THE ROAD

Here is where we focus on your professionalism and courteous attitude as a Class D Driver.

BEHIND THE WHEEL

Next, we put your defensive driving techniques to work, giving you the opportunity to practice safe stopping, cornering and reversing skills – all of which are much more challenging in a truck of this size.
